Dr. Sandra Kay Walker, DVM, CAWA
Dr. Walker is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri – Columbia. She is a public servant who has practiced shelter and community medicine in the Kansas City metropolitan area for more than 11 years. She is a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator and will be submitting her credentials for specialization in Shelter Medicine Practice to the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in January of 2026.
Dr. Walker has extensive training in animal shelter management and the practice of shelter medicine. She has lectured on shelter medicine topics at the Midwest Animal Sheltering Conference and presented her original shelter medicine research at the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners' Symposium in 2024.
